Terms of Service
ZUQ is operated by 9owls, Inc. ("9owls", "we", "us"). 9owls, Inc. is the party you contract with under these terms, and the data controller for the personal data described in the Privacy Policy.
Version 2026-10-06. These are the terms for using ZUQ at zuq.si. They are written in plain words on purpose, because a contract nobody reads is not much of an agreement. Making an account means you have read and agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.
StatusEarly build: we save your request and plan the course. No course video is generated yet - a finished build hands you a sample file, not your course - and we will tell you the day that changes.
The ZUQ Terms of Service are the plain-English rules for using zuq.si: what each plan includes, acceptable use, who owns your content, cancellation, and the limits on our liability.
Who we are
ZUQ (zuq.si) is the AI course and video generator described on this site, and it is a product of 9owls, Inc.. In these terms, we, us, 9owls and ZUQ mean 9owls, Inc., the company that operates the site and the party to this agreement; you means the person who creates an account.
What you get
The meter is minutes of video per month, and nothing else on your plan is rationed: you can start as many builds as you like, of any length on our length ladder. What you hand over to a build has its own limits, set out under Where this build stands below; a single file must also be under 10 MB.
- Free: 30 minutes a month, exports carry a ZUQ watermark
- Scholar: 300 minutes a month, $19, no watermark
- Lab: 1800 minutes a month, $59, no watermark
- Institute: 9000 minutes a month, $199, no watermark
- Minute top-up packs never expire and are spent only after that month's plan allowance runs out
Where this build stands
You can attach up to 5 files, each with your own one-line note. An image is resized in your browser and uploaded to storage only our build worker can read. A PDF or a text file is never uploaded - its text is read in your browser, and only that text travels with your request, where the model that plans your course reads it.
Early build: we save your request and plan the course. No course video is generated yet - a finished build hands you a sample file, not your course - and we will tell you the day that changes.
Payments are live. A plan is a recurring monthly subscription and a top-up is a one-time charge, both taken through Stripe Checkout, and your card details never reach ZUQ.
What that leaves to state here, because it is terms rather than a description of how you pay. A subscription keeps charging every month until you cancel it, and Cancellation and refunds below says where cancelling happens. We never see or store a card number: we hold your email address and the Stripe customer id for your account, and nothing else about how you pay. And a plan or a pack is only ever granted after Stripe confirms the money moved, never on a click in our app.
So the honest shape of what money buys today is bounded by the sentence above about rendering: a plan and a top-up buy you real minutes, a real planned build and a saved library, and a finished build hands back a sample file rather than your rendered course. We will say plainly on the site the day that changes.
Teams and seats
Lab and Institute are team plans. Free and Scholar are single-person accounts. Lab carries 3 seats and Institute carries 5, counted including the account owner, so Lab adds two other people to you and Institute adds four. Only the account owner adds or removes a seat.
A seat shares the account owner's account rather than having one of its own, and that has two consequences worth reading twice. A team member spends the owner's monthly minutes, from the same meter and the same allowance. A team member can also read the builds on the owner's account. Put someone on a seat only if you are content for them to see that library and to spend from that allowance.
Acceptable use
Use ZUQ for your own course and video requests, on your own account. Do not upload content you do not have the right to upload, do not use the service to build anything unlawful, hateful, or intended to harm someone, and do not try to get around the minutes meter, scrape the service, or interfere with it. An account used this way can be suspended or closed.
Your content, and who owns it
Anything you upload or type into a request stays yours, and a finished video you receive is yours to keep and use. What happens to a file you hand over is set out under Where this build stands above, in the same words the product shows you at the moment you hand it over; this clause deliberately does not restate it in different ones.
Our content
The ZUQ site, its name, and its own text and design belong to us. Nothing here gives you rights to those beyond using the site as intended.
Not legal advice
We are not your lawyer and this is not legal advice. This is so that when you do talk to your lawyer, you already know which three pages to talk about.
Cancellation and refunds
A monthly plan can be cancelled at any time. Cancelling happens in the Stripe billing portal for your account, which is also where an upgrade, a downgrade and a card change happen. There is no link to that portal in the app yet, so until there is, email support@zuq.si and we will open it for you. When Stripe reports the subscription ended, your account moves back to Free.
A cancelled plan runs to the end of the period already paid for, and there is no partial-month refund. A minute top-up pack is a one-time purchase and is non-refundable once minutes from it have been used; unused minutes from it do not expire. You can ask for your account to be closed at any time, and the Privacy Policy sets out how to ask for your data to be deleted or exported.
Liability limits
ZUQ is provided as it is, with no warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and this is an early build with features still being completed. To the extent the law allows, ZUQ is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or 50 US dollars if you have paid us nothing.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. The version date at the top of this page is how you tell one version from another, and it is the value recorded against your account the day you agree to it. A change that matters will be shown on the site, not buried in a version bump alone.
