AI explainer video generator: from text to a narrated, animated video
In short
An AI explainer video generator is a tool that turns a question, notes or a document into a narrated, animated video that explains one idea, writing the script, the voice and the animation itself.
ZUQ (zuq.si) is an AI explainer video generator. Type a question, paste your notes or hand over a document, and ZUQ writes the script, records the narration and animates it with diagrams, scenes and worked examples. An explainer runs from 1 minute to 3 hours, and 10 minutes is the default.
A typical video is ready to stream a minute or two after you press Make. Every video downloads as a 4K MP4, to keep, to send, or to load into your LMS. To change it, you ask in plain words.
StatusEarly build: we save your request and plan the course. No course video is generated yet - a finished build hands you a sample file, not your course - and we will tell you the day that changes.

- One concept, a whole subject or your content, each narrated and animated.
- Depth
- Beginner, intermediate, advanced or expert, chosen before the build.
- Plans
- Free plan: 30 minutes of video included. Paid plans from 19 to 199 USD a month, with 300 to 9000 minutes.

How do I make an explainer video with AI?
Making a video in ZUQ takes three steps. Describe: say what needs explaining in plain words - one sentence is enough, and you can paste up to 4000 characters of notes or document text. Tune: answer a few quick questions a producer would ask, each already answered with a sensible default. Make: check the title, the length, the depth and what it costs in minutes, add notes or files if you want to, then press Make.
After you press Make, the build plans the video in parts, in the order a viewer needs them, writes the script for the depth you chose, records the narration, and animates each part with diagrams, scenes and worked examples. A typical video is ready to stream a minute or two after you press Make.
What goes into an AI explainer video?
An explainer takes one idea from first principles to the point where you can use it. The default plan moves from where the idea comes from, to the core mechanism, to a worked example, to why the obvious intuition fails.
- A script written for the depth you chose.
- Recorded narration.
- Animation: diagrams, scenes and worked examples, drawn for this video.
- A private watch page, and a 4K MP4 download.
Explainer, document video or training course
ZUQ reads your request and proposes the format; one tap changes it. An explainer is for one idea; a document video teaches your own material back; a training course teaches a whole subject in modules.
- Explainer: one idea, taken from first principles to the point where you can use it. 1 minute to 3 hours; the default is 10 minutes.
- Training course: a subject broken into modules and taught in order, start to finish. 5 minutes to 30 hours; the default is 1 hour.
- Document video: your contract, policy, deck, paper or notes, taught back in plain words. 1 minute to 3 hours; the default is 15 minutes.
Pitched at the viewer
The depth is fixed before anything is made, so the same question becomes a beginner explainer for a newcomer or an expert one for a specialist.
- Beginner: Assumes nothing. Every idea is built from first principles, in order.
- Intermediate: Assumes the vocabulary. The video moves at working pace and skips the basics.
- Advanced: Assumes the formalism. The video goes straight at the hard parts.
- Expert: Assumes the literature. No recap, no analogies, full speed.
Making an explainer from notes or a document
For a document video, paste the text into the Describe box, up to 4000 characters, or attach the PDF or text file with Add images or files on the Make step. The document box on Describe takes the file name only and sends nothing else.
You can attach reference files with Add images or files on the Make step. It is optional. ZUQ takes PNG, JPEG, WebP and GIF images, PDF, plain text and Markdown - there is no DOCX, PPTX or EPUB path.
You can attach up to 5 files, each with your own one-line note. An image is resized in your browser and uploaded to storage only our build worker can read. A PDF or a text file is never uploaded - its text is read in your browser, and only that text travels with your request, where the model that plans your course reads it.
Each file must be under 10 MB, and at most 20000 characters are read from a PDF or a text file. A file is material to work from, not an instruction: the build decides how each one fits the video.
How do I edit an AI explainer video?
To change a finished video, ask in plain words: a shorter intro, one more example, a different depth. ZUQ makes a new cut from your original brief plus the change. The new cut spends the video's runtime in minutes again, and the cost is shown before anything is spent.
The original stays in your library exactly as it was, beside the new cut.
Early build: an update request spends real minutes and hands back another sample file, not your rendered course. The video you have now is kept exactly as it is, and we will tell you the day real rendering begins.
Sharing an explainer
Every video is private by default: only you and the team on your account can watch it. You can share it by link with people you name by email, who sign in to watch, or make it public so anyone with the link can watch it. Only a public video can be embedded on another site or posted to a social network.
How much does an AI explainer video cost?
ZUQ charges for minutes of finished video and nothing else. The Free plan includes 30 minutes a month, watermarked, with no card needed. Paid plans start at $19 a month for 300 minutes. Depth never changes the price, and there is no limit on how many videos you make.
Unused monthly minutes do not carry over. Top-up minutes, bought outright from $6 for 60 minutes, never expire and are spent after the month's allowance.
