ZUQ vs Synthesia
Synthesia is an AI video platform. ZUQ is an AI course generator, and the difference that matters is what you have to bring. ZUQ needs no script: from one request in plain words, or from your own reference files, the models plan the course and write its chapters - modules in order, each with one job, worked examples inside them, and a recall and self-test module at the end.
This page sets out what ZUQ does and what it does not do. For what Synthesia does today and how it is priced, read Synthesia: that is theirs to state and it changes.
StatusEarly build: we save your request and plan the course. No course video is generated yet - a finished build hands you a sample file, not your course - and we will tell you the day that changes.
ZUQ is an AI course generator: one request, or your own reference files, in - a planned, full-length training video course out, in modules. Synthesia is an AI video platform. The difference that decides it is what you have to bring.
What ZUQ is for
ZUQ does the part before the script. You give it the question, the subject or the files - not the words. From that it plans the course, decides the module titles when the build starts, and writes the chapters: modules in order, each with one job, with worked examples inside them and a recall and self-test module at the end.
The unit of output is a course rather than a clip. You choose the level - beginner, intermediate, advanced or expert - and the runtime, from 30 seconds to 30 hours, with no cap on how many modules a course has. Runtime is the only thing priced: a build spends exactly the minutes it produces, from a monthly allowance plus top-up minutes that never expire.
- Bring the question, the subject or the document - not the words.
- Ask for hours of material in modules rather than one video.
- Build training from your own file: a policy, a manual, a procedure, a contract.
- Pitch it at the level of the person who has to watch it.
- Choose the runtime, from 30 seconds to 30 hours.
What ZUQ does not do
ZUQ will not render a script you have already written. There is no field for one: the request, the level, the runtime and your reference files are the whole input, and the writing is the part ZUQ does. If you have the words and want them presented, this is the wrong tool.
It also offers no avatar, no presenter to choose, no voice to pick and no brand kit, template or scene editor. There is no timeline either: you cannot open a finished build and cut inside it. A change is asked for in plain words, and it starts a new build.
- No script input: ZUQ writes the course, you do not.
- No avatar, presenter choice, voice choice or brand template.
- No editor and no timeline: nothing is cut inside a finished file.
- No certificate or accreditation.
Where ZUQ is today
Each finished build hands back a sample file for now, not your rendered course.
Early build: an update request spends real minutes and hands back another sample file, not your rendered course. The video you have now is kept exactly as it is, and we will tell you the day real rendering begins.
This page does not describe Synthesia's pricing, features or quality. Those are Synthesia's to state and they change; check Synthesia's own site for what it offers today. What is set out above is what ZUQ does, and it does not rank either product.
| ZUQ | |
|---|---|
| What it is | An AI course generator: one request, or your own reference files, in - a planned training video course out, in modules, ending in a recall and self-test module |
| What you give it | One request in plain words, a level and a runtime. You write no script and approve no outline - the module titles are decided when the build starts, and they appear on the build card in your library |
| Reference files | Yes: up to 5 reference files, 10 MB each at most - PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF images, PDF, plain text or Markdown - and you write your own one-line note on each. Up to 20,000 characters are read from a PDF or text file |
| Who writes the course | AI models plan the course and write its chapters from your one request or your own files. You write nothing: no script, no outline, no module list |
| How long it can be | From 30 seconds to 30 hours, in modules, with no cap on how many modules a course has or how many courses you build - minutes are the only thing that runs out |
| Pitched at your level | Pitched at beginner, intermediate, advanced or expert, chosen before the build starts. The level never changes the price |

| How it reaches you | A watch page of its own at /v/{slug}, private by default. You can grant a link, or make it public - only a public one is crawlable |
| What you get today | Each finished build hands back a sample file for now, not your rendered course. |
Questions
Is ZUQ a Synthesia alternative?
Only if the job is a course rather than a video of words you have already written. ZUQ plans the course, decides the modules and writes the chapters from one request or your own files. Each finished build hands back a sample file for now, not your rendered course.
What is the difference between ZUQ and Synthesia?
Start with what ZUQ takes and makes. It takes one request in plain words, up to five reference files, a level and a runtime - no script - and plans a course for exactly that: modules in order, worked examples, a recall and self-test module at the end, from 30 seconds to 30 hours. For what Synthesia takes and makes, read Synthesia.
Does ZUQ use AI avatars?
No. There is no avatar, no presenter to choose and no voice to pick: a ZUQ build is a course - modules, worked examples and a recall and self-test module - and the models write it. Each finished build hands back a sample file for now, not your rendered course.
Do I need to write a script for ZUQ?
No, and there is nowhere to put one. One request in plain words, or one file, is the whole input. The models plan the course and write the chapters; you choose the level and the runtime.
Can ZUQ make training videos for employees?
That is one of the things it is built for, and it can work from your own material: a policy, a manual, a procedure, a contract. Hand over up to five files with a one-line note on each, choose the level and the runtime, and the course is planned as modules with worked examples and a self-test. The page on AI training videos for employees covers this in detail.
Should I use Synthesia or ZUQ?
Ask what you have. If you already have the words and want them presented, ZUQ is the wrong tool - it has no script input. If you have a question, a subject or a document and need the course written, that is what ZUQ is for.
