ZUQ

ZUQ vs Coursera

225 modules, one bar each

Coursera is an online learning platform. ZUQ is an AI course generator, which is a different kind of thing: there is no catalogue to browse and nothing is published for anyone else. You type one request, or hand over your own reference files, and ZUQ plans a training video course for that request - modules in order, each with one job, ending in a recall and self-test module.

This page sets out what ZUQ does, in detail, and what it does not do. For what Coursera offers today - its subjects, its prices, its credentials - read Coursera. Those are theirs to state, they change, and a second-hand description of them on this page would be stale before you read it.

StatusEarly build: we save your request and plan the course. No course video is generated yet - a finished build hands you a sample file, not your course - and we will tell you the day that changes.

ZUQ is an AI course generator that turns one request, or your own reference files, into a planned, full-length training video course at a level you choose. Coursera is an online learning platform. The two answer different questions, so the useful question is which one you have.

What ZUQ is for

ZUQ builds the course that does not exist yet. The input is one request in plain words, plus up to five reference files if you have them - a chapter, a spec, a policy, a photograph of a worksheet - each with your own one-line note saying what it is and what you want from it. The output is a planned course: modules in order, each with one job, with worked examples inside them and a recall and self-test module at the end.

Two choices are yours and nobody else's. The level - beginner, intermediate, advanced or expert - is chosen before the build starts, and it never changes the price. The runtime is chosen from the ladder, from 30 seconds to 30 hours, and it is the only thing priced: a build spends exactly the minutes of runtime it produces, from a monthly allowance plus top-up minutes that never expire.

What ZUQ does not do

ZUQ issues no certificate, no diploma and no degree, and it is not accredited by anyone. If a credential is the reason you are studying, ZUQ is the wrong tool and no amount of minutes will change that.

There is also no catalogue: nothing is browsable, nothing is published for other readers, and nothing is sold on. Every course is built for the person who asked for it. If what you want is to pick a course somebody has already made and start it now, that is not what this product is.

Where ZUQ is today

Each finished build hands back a sample file for now, not your rendered course.

Early build: an update request spends real minutes and hands back another sample file, not your rendered course. The video you have now is kept exactly as it is, and we will tell you the day real rendering begins.

This page does not describe Coursera's pricing, features or quality. Those are Coursera's to state and they change; check Coursera's own site for what it offers today. What is set out above is what ZUQ does, and it does not rank either product.

Questions

Is ZUQ a Coursera alternative?

Only for one kind of job: a course built to order from your own request or files, at a level you choose, in the time you have. If you want a credential at the end, ZUQ issues none. Each finished build hands back a sample file for now, not your rendered course.

What is the difference between ZUQ and Coursera?

Start with what ZUQ takes and makes. It takes one request in plain words, up to five reference files, a level and a runtime, and it plans a course for exactly that: modules in order, worked examples, a recall and self-test module at the end, from 30 seconds to 30 hours. Nothing is browsed and nothing is published. For what Coursera takes and offers, read Coursera.

Can ZUQ replace Coursera?

Not if you need a credential, because ZUQ does not issue one. It can cover the subject nobody has published a course on, the one chapter you are stuck on, and the document you have to understand this week.

Does ZUQ give certificates?

No. ZUQ builds a course for you to learn from; it does not certify you, examine you or accredit anything. The only assessment in a build is the recall and self-test module it ends with, which is for you.

How does ZUQ pricing work?

On minutes of runtime, and nothing else. A 10-minute course spends 10 minutes, at any level and on any track. Each plan grants a monthly allowance and top-up minutes never expire. An update request to a finished build is a new build and spends that build's full runtime again.

Can I use ZUQ and Coursera together?

Nothing stops you, and it is the common case: the published course for the structure, ZUQ for the chapter, concept or document you need at your own level. Each finished build hands back a sample file for now, not your rendered course.
